Allanswersare correct except forthe 1st and 6th one
1st Question
Col A: (2^8*(15^5)+(2^8*(15^5)
Col B: (5^10)*(8^2)
COLA:2(2^8 *15^5) = 2^9 * 15^5 = 8^6*5^5*3^5
COLB:5^10*8^2
DivideCOLAwith COLB =8^4*3^5/5^5 =(8/5)^4*(3^5/5) >1
ThereforeCOLAisgreater
6th Question
There is a series of odd numbers from 1 to n where n is a odd number. What is the probability that a number selected at random will be an odd number?
When the seriesis of oddnumbers,no matter what u take, it will be an odd number ,therefore the probability is 1

Hi Sivaraj,
for this problem, the diagonal of the samller squre is the side of the larger square,
let the side of the smaller sqre be b and that of the larger square be a,
then (sqrt2)*b=a
b=a/(sqrt2)
Now perimeter of the larger square =4a=X, X/2 = 2a
perimeter of the smaller square = 4b=4a/(sqrt2)=2(sqrt2)a
Therefore COLA is gretaer - October 4, 2008 at 3:20 PM

in 7th
consider the intercept form of equation
x/a+y/b=1, where a, b are x-intercept, y-intercepy respt.
so, xb+ya/ab=1
xb+ya=ab
ya=-xb+ab
y=x(-b/a)+b
slope -b/a=-1/2
thus a>b
so ans A - October 15, 2008 at 2:37 AM
